This lesson is part of Advanced Excel training program which targeted the financial analysts who need to learn and apply advanced excel functions and features to their daily data analysis and business reporting. The program covers several areas such as; data consolidating, link Excel to other databases, and custom validation etc.

This lesson mainly aims at making the learner see and try the tips of creating a pivot table to analyze worksheet data. They key challenge in designing this lesson was how to turn a set of screenshots accompanied with tips to an engaging learning experience. I considered several options such on software video training; however I found that view and try modes developed by Articulate Storyline will be more appropriate. It gives a visual demonstration of how things are practically supposed to be done. It also offers immediate feedback, promotes independent learning and reduces training development time and cost.
